Evology are proud to have helped support the Young Enterprise ‘Company of the Year’ Programme 2022, for the second year running.
The annual competition organised by the UK charity features award categories such as ‘Best overall company’, Best Sustainable company’, ‘Best Digital presence’ and ‘Team Journey’.
The programme works with schools and colleges across the country to help young people put business theory into action, by inviting them to create their own start-up enterprises and compete against set criteria.
Each company provides a company report, records a presentation, and faces a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style interview from the judging panel.
This year’s entries featured a wide range of products, including an AI enabled browser plug-in to help online shoppers make healthier and more sustainable choices, a climate positive vegan fashion brand and a scientifically backed gaming platform to help prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s.
Evology Co-Founder Simon Wells, who featured on the judging panel for the local heats said:
“Once again, I was incredibly impressed by the calibre of entries this year and the entrepreneurialism shown by these young people. Building businesses with purpose that can solve real world problems, especially while still under constraints from COVID19 is an impressive feat. Some businesses have even sparked potential partnership discussions with major retailers in the UK.
It’s encouraging to know that businesses of the future will be purpose-led and with sustainability in mind.”
The YE is a UK charity that aim to reduce youth unemployment, help young people realise their potential beyond education and empower a generation ‘to learn, to work and to live’.
